The “BDBOS Tactical Day” will take place on 15 May and is aimed directly at users of Public Safety Digital Radio. The all-day workshop will be held under the motto “Managing large-scale events”, with expert speakers providing insights into their best practices. These include major events such as the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the G20 summit in Hamburg and the UCI Road World Championships in Norway. The audience will also be able to learn about technical solutions for successfully managing large-scale events: The use of load-based secondary organisation channels, user-owned management (NEM) and real-time monitoring (RTM) to monitor radio utilisation are three of the topics. The “BDBOS Tactical Day” will be led by Dr Barbara Held, Head of the BDBOS Operations Department. Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required. All relevant information can be found at the link Access external link.
As a TCCA member, the Federal Agency will also take part in the main CCW conference and will talk about the current focus of its work and the challenges ahead. BDBOS President Andreas Gegenfurtner will open the second day of the conference on 16 May with a welcoming address. On 17 May, Thomas Scholle, Head of the BDBOS Technology Subdivision, will speak about the modernisation of the TETRA network and the migration to IP. The head of the BDBOS international standardisation team, Jürgen Rurainsky, will take part in a panel discussion with international experts from industry and standardisation bodies on the topic of “5G Network Slicing” and its current state of development. The full conference programme is available at http://critical-communications-world.com/conference/tactical-day.
As the operator of the world's largest TETRA network and co-host of the CCW, the BDBOS will have its own stand in the exhibitor area. BDBOS staff will be available at stand A95 on all three days of the fair to answer questions about Public Safety Digital Radio. This year, the BDBOS will be focussing on user-owned management and real-time monitoring Visitors will be able to gain an insight into how they work using a demo version. The “German Pavilion” is being organised by the Federal Agency together with representatives from the federal states: The federal state of Berlin will provide information about Public Safety Digital Radio coverage in the Berlin underground system, Lower Saxony will give a presentation on the possible applications of a MultiAnalyzer using the measuring device and Saxony-Anhalt will be presenting an interactive radio patrol car. Admission to the exhibition area is free of charge.
