Dr Richter has been a civil servant State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community and Federal Government Commissioner for Information Technology since 1 May this year, is Chairman of the Administrative Board of the BDBOS and also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ALDB GmbH.

The visit began with a frank exchange of ideas with BDBOS President Andreas Gegenfurtner and BDBOS Vice President Frank Buddrus. Following this, the Director, Ines Fiedler, who is responsible for the federal government's networks, and the BDBOS department heads introduced themselves and their tasks. During the ensuing discussion, Dr Richter pointed out that the performance of tasks by the BDBOS is central and essential for the functioning of state communications in the Federal Republic of Germany and is therefore of particular importance to him. Dr Richter's visit was rounded off with a tour of the Network Management Centre for Public Safety Digital Radio on the premises of the ALDB, where he was able to see the professionalism of the technical operations for himself.

The State Secretary expressed his thanks and appreciation for the achievements of the BDBOS and declared that he was very much looking forward to further cooperation.
