Gegenfurtner has been Vice President of the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio since it was founded in 2007 and President of the BDBOS since 2016. Under his leadership, Public Safety Digital Radio has undergone significant further development. Since 2019, he has also been successfully driving forward the consolidation and further development of the Federal Networks (NdB). For the BDBOS, the reappointment is also an expression of the ongoing trust and successful cooperation between the federal and state governments.

Andreas Gegenfurtner was born in 1959 and began his career in the Baden-Württemberg police force, where he most recently worked as a police commander. In 2006, he moved to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, where he was the overall project manager for the development of Public Safety Digital Radio in Baden-Württemberg.
