To mark the 15th anniversary of the BDBOS and the recently concluded “Interschutz”, the world's leading trade fair for rescue services, fire and disaster protection and security in Hanover, the magazine was published as a special printed edition in German and English. The special edition attracted considerable interest at the trade fair, selling out completely each day.

From digital radio use in sea rescue to network modernisation and broadband strategy, the Wellenreiter editorial team, made up of the federal government, federal states and the BDBOS, was able to publish articles from all federal states and the federal government.

The Wellenreiter edition thus reflects the successful cooperation between the federal government, the federal states and the BDBOS for Public Safety Digital Radio and, with its wide range of topics, also demonstrates the high complexity of the Public Safety Digital Radio Network. The foreword to the special edition was written by the Federal Government Commissioner for Information Technology and Chairman of the Administrative Board of the BDBOS, State Secretary Dr Markus Richter.
